The Ladybank Company of Distillers Club Limited, Scotland’s first and only ‘private club’ distillery, has re-opened its exclusive membership list.

With the initial worldwide membership base established, the legal, regulatory and environmental challenges have now been solidly met and overcome. The tenders for the first phase of construction have been concluded and the next stage of progress (building work) is ready to move into action.

During the run up to Christmas, the next 30 members who join Ladybank will be eligible for a special introductory gift of collectible special edition whisky, which can be delivered anywhere in the world with their membership packs in time for Christmas.

New members will also be entered into the Club’s new membership-draw for a particularly rare 40 year old bottling of single malt. 3 bottles have been set aside for this purpose and winners’ names will be released within a few days.

All Ladybank members will have unique access to the distillery’s new premium single malt when it comes on stream, and they will also have the luxury of an uncrowded sanctuary at Ladybank headquarters in the heart of the historic Kingdom of Fife.

Sunday Times also quoted on November 13:

"Well, here's the deal. The distillery doesn’t exist yet. You put down £3,250 (£2,500 for overseas members) and if all goes well you will receive six bottles of whisky a year for 50 years. The number of members is limited to 1,250, and you can sell to your family or to people on the waiting list. The estimated return is £30,000, but bearing in mind the distillery has yet to be built and the whisky has to mature at least seven years before bottling, that return will be spread over about 60 years."
