Ladybank, the prestigious private Scottish whisky distillery club, has launched its second-phase membership scheme, giving 250 more investors the chance to own a share in an exciting new Scottish distillery. Ladybank members will not only have exclusive access to a new premium single malt, they will also have the luxury of an uncrowded sanctuary at Ladybank headquarters in the heart of the historic Kingdom of Fife. Ladybank’s first round of investment attracted 300 members from around the world.
The exclusive club, the first of its kind in the world, will be located near the village of Ladybank, close to St Andrews in Fife. It offers a capped membership of 1,250 investors the chance to own part of a craft-scale whisky distillery, which promises to produce the finest single malt whisky in Scotland. The whisky, exclusively available to members and their friends, will be produced in intentionally small amounts to guarantee its rarity and value.
Three hundred vetted members from 30 countries snapped up the first round of memberships, entitling them to receive the equivalent of six bottles a year from each vintage over the first 50 years of production. The limited production offers an excellent potential return on investment. In addition, members will receive other privileges such as access to commemorative and limited edition bottlings, witnessing and assisting in the entire whisky-making process and use of the club’s private dining facilities and function rooms.
Whisky expert Harry Riffkin of specialist analytical chemists Tatlock & Thomson created recipes for the unique Ladybank range of single-malts to reflect the character and individuality of the brand. Using only the finest ingredients and combining the latest technology in whisky production with bygone craft traditions, the Ladybank whiskies will be of unparalleled quality and display flavours that can only be developed through the extra care and time taken in this process.
The entrepreneurial founder of Ladybank, James Thomson, spent many years in whisky marketing for top Scottish brands before starting the project.
“The second round of memberships heralds an exciting phase in Ladybank’s development,” says Thomson. “Our members appreciate the value of the project because they are investing in a shared passion. Our aim is not only to produce the finest whisky available, but also to bring together a select group of like-minded members who share the same values, in order to create the very best ambience within the club.”
Two-hundred-and-fifty new memberships are available. UK membership costs £3,250, which includes unlimited access to the facilities at Ladybank headquarters (subject to availability). Different rates apply for overseas members.
